Imran Khan terms drone attacks against national integrity
BATTAGRAM/ISLAMABAD, May 25 (DNA): Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan Wednesday denounced the United States (US) drone strikes in Pakistan as an attack on national integrity.
Talking to media in Battagram, Khan said that allies never attack each other. He said that drone attack in Balochistan was a failure of the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.Khan inaugurated three community-run hydel power projects capable of producing 200 MW of electricity. The projects will provide cheap and clean energy to the local people of the area.
On his way back he discovered a place that could become a hill station near Battagram at 9000 ft with available water. The PTI chief said that he will discuss the project with the Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP) government.
Imran Khan demanded that the government to make public a report about the loans written off. The report was prepared by a commission of the Supreme Court (SC) judges in 2013.
He said that the government wants to sabotage the inquiry into the Panama Papers by including the loan write-offs in the ToRs of the commission.
In a statement released in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that a three-member commission was set up under Justice (R) Jamshed Ali Khan to recover written off loans from 1971 to 2011.
The commission submitted its report in 2013. The apex court had ordered that the report be made public but the current and previous governments did not comply in order to conceal the names of their favorites.
