Imran Khan strongly condemns torture, inhumane behavior with Mehmood Ur Rasheed
Says a 70 year old man forcibly taken back to jail against doctors’ advice
Urges judiciary, HR organisations to protect fundamental rights of citizens
ISLAMABAD: /DNA/ – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan strongly condemned the torture and inhumane behavior being meted out with Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed, a 70 year old man with a serious heart condition, who was forcibly taken back to the jail despite having severe chest pains.
PTI Chairman said that Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed was taken back to the in jail against the doctors’ advice to keep him under observation.
Imran Khan said that the senior PTI leader reportedly suffered severe chest pains in jail yesterday, who was taken to the hospital but despite doctors’ advice to keep him under observation, he was forcibly taken back to the jail.
“He — a 70 year old man with a serious heart condition — has been in jail in this blistering heat for over 75 days,” he added.
PTI Chairman stated: “He is being subjected to such torture and inhumane behaviour solely for his crime of refusing to renounce PTI.
Imran Khan said: “I again urge our judiciary and the Human Rights Organisations to take a stand and protect the fundamental rights of the citizens.”
