Islam preaches peace, harmony says Imam-e- Kaaba
ISLAMABAD, APR 13 (DNA) – Imam-e-Kaaba Dr Sheikh Abdullah Awad Al Juhany – who had arrived in Islamabad on Thursday on a five-day visit addressed an ‘Ulema Convention’ on Saturday at a local hotel.
A large number of ulema hailing from various walks of life attended the seminar. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf Saeed Al Maliky and others were also present on the occasion.
Imam-e-Kaaba said that Islam preaches peace, love and harmony. Dr Abdullah also said that Islam stands for brotherhood and it lays great emphasis on the rights of the people.
The Makkah’s Grand Imam also addressed the “Youth and Contemporary Challenges” seminar at the International Islamic University’s Faisal Mosque campus after the leading the Friday prayer.
Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf Saeed Al Maliky while speaking on the occasion expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the said incident in Quetta in which many precious lives were lost.
He added, the Saudi government was ready to extend any support to Pakistan in order to root out terrorism and extremism.
The Saudi ambassador further said Muslim ummah needs to unite itself in order to thwart evil designs of enemies adding that was the only way to match challenges of the present day.
The ambassador added, religious scholars therefore ought to incur upon themselves onus of uniting ummah.
He said Ummah should also shun its differences. He also quote various verses from the holy Quran in support of his argument that union was a real strength.= DNA
