Ikebana master Ms. Neveen Syed wins prestigious Japanese award for cultural diplomacy
ISLAMABAD, AUG 29 /DNA/ – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has announced the conferment of Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations 2025 upon Ms. Neveen Syed, Chairperson of the Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group in recognition of her significant contributions towards the promotion of cultural relations between Japan and Pakistan.
Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group is a cultural organisation of Japanese-style flower arrangement, Ikebana.
Ms. Neveen Syed, Chairperson of the Lahore Floritage Sogetsu Study Group, has been working selflessly and with full dedication to spread Japanese culture by providing opportunities to introduce Japanese culture to Pakistani people by holding Ikebana flower arrangement classes and exhibitions in Pakistan.
H.E. Mr. Akamatsu Shuichi, the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, has conveyed his heartiest congratulations to Ms. Neveen upon the conferment of Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations for this year which is the acknowledgement of her efforts and dedication towards enhanced cultural relations and people-to-people interactions. In addition, Ambassador expressed his expectation that Ms. Neveen continues to play an essential role in the promotion of Ikebana in Pakistan and has acted as a bridge of friendship and goodwill between the two countries.
The Commendations conferment ceremony will be held later on where Ambassador Akamatsu will confer the Commendations on behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.
