IHC orders release of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam and Captain Safdar: NAB to file appeal
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) -: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended sentences of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar in the Avenfield verdict on Wednesday. NAB chairman chaired a high level meeting after the court verdict and decided to file appeal after getting the detailed judgement.
Earlier today, IHC resumed hearing of petitions by Nawaz Sharif and his family members for suspension.
A two member bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the case.
NAB prosecutor also made submissions before the court today.
