IHC accepts plea against newly appointed ECP members for hearing
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – ISLAMABAD High Court (IHC) on Tuesday accepted a plea against appointment of two new members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The application said the appointments were made without a consultation between Prime Minister and opposition leader.
The application said it is illegal to appoint members without fulfilling legal formalities so it should be annulled.
IHC had objected to the application of senior lawyer Jahangir Jadoon and it was resubmitted after removing objections.
Chief justice IHC Athar Minallah will hear the case on August 28.
