IG Police assures to improve security in markets to promote trade activities

Islamabad, DEC 1 /DNA/ – Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Inspector General Islamabad Police said that cameras being installed in the commercial centers and markets will be connected to the Safe City Project in order to provide a peaceful and safe environment to the business community for business promotion. He said this while inaugurating the installation of security cameras in I- 8 Markaz along with Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan lauded the efforts of traders to install security cameras in the I-8 Markaz on self-finance basis and said that the traders of other markets and commercial areas should also follow their precedent so that these cameras can be connected with the Safe City Project that would help to control crimes and further improve improve the security situation in the markets.

Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said thanked the traders of I-8 Markaz for installing security cameras in their market on a self-finance basis that would strengthen the hands of police in controlling crimes. He said that efforts would be made to further improve the security in markets and industrial areas in cooperation with the police. He said that the traders of other markets should follow the example of I-8 Markaz to improve security in their respective business areas. He assured that ICCI will cooperate fully with Islamabad Police to make the capital a crime-free city.

President Raja Fayyaz Gul and Secretary General Zahid Qureshi, Traders Welfare Association I-8 Markaz said that the Association has installed security cameras in the market with the support of traders to help the police in controlling crimes. They hoped that traders of other markets would also join this campaign and play a role in making Islamabad a crime-free city.

Zafar Bakhtawari, former President ICCI and Secretary General UBG Pakistan said that the business community and the police have an important role in making Islamabad a safe and conducive city for business and investment and hoped that both institutions will continue to cooperate to fulfill this national responsibility. He appreciated the efforts of the I-8 Markaz Association and traders to install security cameras because it will reduce crimes in this market and facilitate the better growth of trade activities.
