Iftikhar Chaudhry seeks asset details of PM Nawaz
ISLAMABAD, 16 MAY (DNA) – Former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice (Retd) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday filed an application to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), seeking details of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s assets.
According to reports, the former CJP, who is head of his Pakistan Justice Democratic Critic Party (PJDCP), filed the application through his lawyer Sheikh Ahsan Azeem, appealing the commission to provide details of PM’s assets submitted between 2008 and 2013.
Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry stated in his application that the PM doesn’t qualify to hold public office under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution for allegedly concealing his assets. The ex-CJP, while speaking to reporters, vowed to approach Supreme Court of Pakistan for disqualification of the PM, after getting details of assets from the ECP. DNA
