ICCI President stresses need for alternate energy to tackle climate challenges
ISLAMABAD, JUL 20: /DNA/ – President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, while addressing the PAEA National Conference on Alternate Energy & Climate Resilience, underlined the critical importance of shifting towards alternate energy solutions to meet Pakistan’s energy needs and strengthen climate resilience.
He emphasized that the adoption of green and renewable energy sources is essential not only for reducing reliance on fossil fuels but also for ensuring long-term economic and environmental sustainability. He noted that alternate energy offers an efficient and viable pathway to power Pakistan’s growth while mitigating the devastating impacts of climate change.
Highlighting recent climate-related disasters, including floods and extreme heat, the ICCI President stressed the need for urgent national efforts to address climate vulnerability. “Pakistan must move decisively towards cleaner energy solutions to safeguard its future and build a climate-resilient economy,” he remarked.
He reiterated that the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry is fully committed to working with industrial sectors, policy forums, and development partners to promote green energy, drive innovation, and combat the multifaceted challenges facing the economy.
“ICCI will continue to play its role in fostering a sustainable energy transition and in positioning Pakistan as a responsible, forward-looking green economy,” President Qureshi concluded.
