LAHORE, (DNA) – The wait is finally over – ICC cricket World Cup trophy landed in Pakistan today on its global journey.

The trophy arrived Lahore along with the ICC representative Mr Shamroon Abbasi.

Fast bowler Mohammad Irfan held the World Cup trophy and took it to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital from Gaddafi Stadium on a bus.

The official picture of the glittering trophy will be taken at Wagah Border Lahore.

The trophy will tour Pakistan from October 3 to 13, it will stay in Lahore from October 3 to 5. Then it will be taken to Islamabad where it will be showcased on October 5 and 6.

In the final phase, the trophy will be taken to Karachi for the exhibition at the National Stadium for two days – October 7 and 8.

According to a statement by ICC, the trophy will be “Travelling across five continents, 21 countries and over 60 cities.

This will happen for the first time that the trophy will travel not only to countries taking part in the tournament but also will go beyond traditional cricket places to further 11 countries where cricket is growing including Nepal, USA and Germany.
