I am leaving Pakistan with heavy heart, says Romanian envoy Emilian ION

ISLAMABAD, JUL 10 (DNA)- Ambassador of Romania Emilian ION has said he is leaving Pakistan next month with a heavy heart as he will surely miss hospitality of Pakistani people extended to him during his seven and half years stay in Pakistan.

The Romanian ambassador was speaking on the occasion of a farewell reception he hosted at his residence to bid farewell to diplomatic fraternity and Pakistani friends.

Ambassador Emilian who happens to be the longest serving Romanian ambassador in Pakistan, further said he considered Pakistan his second home and he will greatly miss great Pakistani people whom I found not only hospitable but extremely friendly also.

Ambassador Emilian also gave a brief account of his endeavours he had made during his tenure to promote and strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Romania.

He said, after coming to Pakistan seven years ago, his main task was to explore especially untapped avenues of cooperation between the two countries and after more than seven years he is happy that relations between the two friendly countries have been given new dimensions.

He thanked the diplomatic community present on the occasion for its support extended to him in his capacity of the Romanian ambassador and the Dean of European missions. He said, he could achieve all this only because of with this support.

He said he will leave Pakistan on August 17 therefore he will utilize this remaining period to further cement relations.

He also thanked all those who wanted to invite him for farewell lunches and dinners but due to time constraints it was not possible for him to entertain all those invitations.

He told his Pakistani friends to consider Romania their second home and he would love to host them in Romania.=DNA
