Hussain Nawaz submits petition against viral JIT proceedings picture

ISLAMABAD, JUN 07 (DNA) – Hussain Nawaz on Wednesday submitted a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) against his leaked picture during the JIT proceedings.
“The leaked picture and recording the proceedings on tape is a violation of both, the law and code of conduct,” the petition stated.
The petition also started that video recording during the proceedings generates stress and it is very important for the inquiry to be conducted in a stress free, independent enviroment.
It further said that the JIT is treating witnesses as if they are guilty and JIT members are trying to coerce witnesses into recording biased statements.
The petition, submitted by senior lawyer Khawaja Haris, requested the court to order a ban to record the proceedings and form a commission to probe into the leaked picture.
A picture of Hussain Nawaz waiting before a session with the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the Federal Judicial Academy in Islamabad went viral on social media this week, raising questions as to who would have leaked the photo.
