Humanitarian Aid from Uzbekistan is delivered to Islamabad

On September 1, 2022, a special board of the Air Force of the Republic of Uzbekistan arrived in Islamabad with humanitarian aid on behalf of the Government of the Uzbekistan to assist the brotherly people of Pakistan affected by severe floods.

Humanitarian aid in the amount of 40 tons consists of food products and blankets, which will be sent to the areas most affected by the disaster and in need of basic necessities.

Mr. Agha Hassan Baloch, Federal Minister for Science and Technology received the humanitarian aid at Islamabad International Airport on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.

“Today we are witnessing the true feelings of empathy and not indifference of our Uzbek brothers and sisters, who extended a hand of support in such difficult days for us. The Government and people of Pakistan highly appreciate the kind gesture of the Uzbek Leadership in providing humanitarian assistance.

On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, I congratulate the Leadership and the friendly people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day. I wish the progressive development and further prosperity of Uzbekistan, which is our strategic partner, and we are ready for close cooperation for the benefit of our peoples,”- Federal Minister said.

Mr. Shah Faisal Kakar, Director General of CARs & ECO Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pakistan, also took part in the event. Earlier, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent letter of condolences to the Leadership of Pakistan in connection with numerous human losses. The Uzbek President conveyed words of sympathy to the families of the victims and people affected by natural disaster, wishing them a speedy recovery
