Govt’s Asset Declaration Scheme 2019 ends today
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Government’s Asset Declaration Scheme 2019 ends today.
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi has said that no extension shall be given in the scheme after today’s deadline.
Meanwhile, the FBR has issued instructions to its subordinate offices to remain open today and observe working hours till 11pm. The step has been taken to facilitate the taxpayers in payment of duties and taxes and filing of income tax return.
Zaidi has rejected speculations that the deadline would be extended. According to details, about 60,000 people have availed benefits from the scheme so far.
Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda has revealed that a four-day extension in the deadline would be given, and the general public could declare their assets but there would be no need to deposit the amounts in the banks.
Contrarily, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the decision would be taken in a meeting scheduled to be presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Dr Awan said Vawda has no authority of extending the deadline and the decision would be taken by the premier.
