Govt announces Eid ul Fitr holidays

ISLAMABAD, 28 JUNE (DNA) – The Federal Government on Tuesday (Today) has announced a four-day holidays for Eid ul Fitr from July 05 to 08. According to a notification issued by the country’s Federal Ministry of Interior, holidays are to be observed from 5th to 8th of July (Tuesday to Friday).
Reportedly, the federal government employees will enjoy six holidays, due to two additional days of break, Saturday and Sunday. Following the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s announcement, the first day of Ramazan was observed on Tuesday, June 7, across Pakistan.
Pakistan Meteorological Department on Friday said Eidul Fitr is likely to fall on July 6. The Met Dept said the chances of moon sighting for Eid are extremely high on July 5. The Eidul Fitr moon will likely be visible in Balochistan’s Jiwani and Pasni coastal lines, local media reported.
Eidul-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramazan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The event is one of the centerpieces of the Muslim calendar and features large congregation prayers and extended family gatherings. DNA
