Gold prices continue to shatter records in Pakistan with huge increase
ISLAMABAD, DEC 19 (DNA) — Gold prices continued to shatter all records in Pakistan as the yellow metal saw another big increase in its price on Monday.
The price of 24-karat of gold increased by Rs2200 per tola to reach an all-time high of Rs174,900. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat of gold increased by Rs1886 to reach Rs149,948. The price of 10 grams of 22 Karat gold has reached 137,453. The price of gold in the international market was also increased by $3 per ounce to $1,796 per ounce.
The prices of silver also increased by Rs40 per tola and Rs34.29 per 10 grams to settle at Rs2,020 and Rs1,731.83 ,respectively. According to the jewellers association, the gold rates are all-time highest in Pakistan and Rs4,000 over cost in Dubai gold rates.
The jewellers said the scarcity of dollars in the market is behind the reason for increasing gold prices in the country as there was an increasing trend in purchasing gold in absence of dollars. = DNA
