Girls in green bag another win in Women T20 Asia Cup
KARACHI, NOV 27, (DNA) -Continuing their winning streak in the Women T20 Asia Cup, Pakistan’s women T20 team on Sunday defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets in their second match of the tournament in Thailand.
Riding on a brilliant unbeaten half-century by Javeria Khan, Pakistan women team reached the target of 113 runs for the loss of only two wickets with 10 balls remaining.
Javeria smashed five boundaries to score unbeaten 56 off 51 deliveries, her third half-century in Women T20Is. Nain Abidi scored 28 off 24 balls.
Earlier, Sri Lanka were restricted to 112 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs after their captain Hasini Perera won the toss and elected to bat first.
Nahida Khan got two wickets for 17 runs. Anum Amin, Sana Mir and Bisma Maroof got one wicket apiece as Sri Lankan women struggled against Pakistani bowlers.
Pakistan will next play arch-rivals India in the tournament on Tuesday.=DNA
