Gen Nasir Janjua tipped as new national security advisor

ISLAMABAD, OCT 17: (DNA) Lt. General Nasir Janjua (Retd) has been tipped as the new national security advisor in lieu of Sartaj Aziz who is likely to be made full time foreign minister.According to a private tv channel, Gen Nasir Janjua met with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif few days ago in which he was offered the slot. Nasir Janjua had recently retired as Commander Southern Command.During his stint as Commander Southern Command Gen. Janjua contributed greatly towards peace and stability in the Bolachistan province. His efforts to woo the estranged Baloch leader bore fruit and they decided to become part of the mainstream politics.
Likewise, a number of Baloch insurgents surrendered their arms and decided not to resort to violence in future.
Gen. Janjau is very well aware of the Indian involvement in the province also therefore as national security advisor he shall be in a better position to advise the political leadership especially on Indian hand in disturbance in the province.
Sarjaz Aziz or Tairq Fatemi may be make full time foreign minister; however it may not be possible for the two veterans to continue on the same post. =DNA
