Gang of dacoits busted; street criminal held
ISLAMABAD, 20 JAN (DNA) – Islamabad Ramana police station has five outlaws involved in dacoities as well as incidents of street crime and also recovered weapons, veils and vehicle from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani assigned the task to SP (Saddar) Rizwan Gondal to arrest those involved in various crime incidents.
Following his directions, a special team headed by Inspector Arshad Abro including ASI Muhmmad Iqbal, Head Constable Ibrar Ahmed, Constable Sohail Abbas and Irfan was constituted. On a tip off, this team raided in sector G-11/2 and nabbed a gang of dacoits besides recovering weapons, ammunition, rented vehicle and veils from them.
They have been identified as Wazeer Abbass, Ali Raza, Malik Imran and Rana Waseem Abbass. The accused Wazeer Abbass and Ali Raza are found involved in several criminal activities and looting people after portraying themselves as policemen. Six cases have been registered against them at Shalimar and Tarnol police stations.
Meanwhile, police nabbed Humayun Malik for involvement in street crime besides recovering snatched cash Rs. 35,000 ad mobile phone from him. Sub-Inspector Yar Muhammad from Tanrol police station nabbed Asif Khan for having 1150 gram hashish.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this overall performance and directed to maintain high vigilance against criminal elements. DNA
