Franco-German day to be celebrated on Jan 22
ISLAMABAD, JAN 18 (DNA)- French and German embassies are to jointly celebrate the Franco-German day on January 22.
French and German Ambassadors, Dr. Marc Barety and Mr. Martin Kobler will formally announce holding of the event during a press conference.
This day is celebrated every year on 22 January to mark the anniversary of the German-French friendship treaty (Élysée Treaty) which was signed on 22 January 1963 and was the basis for the reconciliation between France and Germany.
The celebration this year will highlight the signing of a new treaty, Treaty of Aachen, by which France and Germany aiming to address the challenges of the 21st century together. =DNA
