Fourth Meeting on Electric Vehicles Policy Held Under Rana Tanveer Hussain
ISLAMABAD: DEC 12 (DNA):The fourth meeting on the Electric Vehicles Policy, chaired by Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, was held to discuss the progress of the initiative.
The Minister appreciated the efforts of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and directed it to install charging stations at all petrol pumps to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles, promoting eco-friendly transport.
He also announced that the top 120 Federal Board students would receive free electric bikes, while 39,000 electric bikes and 1,900 electric rickshaws would be provided on subsidized loans. The meeting reviewed the progress on the construction of 40 charging stations along motorways and highways.
The Minister emphasized digitizing all processes for transparency and easy access to information.
Rana Tanveer Hussain confirmed that, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, Islamabad will become a model city with widespread use of electric vehicles. The Minister concluded by announcing that the Electric Vehicles Policy will be launched soon, further strengthening the country’s eco-friendly transport system.
