Four militants killed in Karachi encounter: police

KARACHI, 23 FEB (DNA) – Four militants were killed in an alleged shootout with police in Karachi on Monday, authorities said. The shootout took place in Pipri area on the outskirts of Karachi.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in Pipri, where members of a banned terror outfit were hiding, SSP Rao Anwar told media persons. The suspects opened fire on the police party, resulting in an exchange of fire.
“Four terrorists have been killed in the shootout. Two policemen have also sustained injuries,” Anwar said. The raid, he said, was conducted on the identification of already held terrorists Naeem Bokhari and Musna. Rangers arrest two banned PAC extortionists
Rangers officials arrested two members of prohibited Peoples Aman Committee (PAC) for street cries. “The suspects, Munawar and Rafiq, are members of PAC. They used to send extortion chits along with bullets to traders,” Laiq, Wing Commander, Rangers said. DNA
