Former MQM leader Saleem Shahzad announces to form own party
KARACHI, (DNA) – Former leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saleem Shahzad on Saturday has announced to form his own party.
Talking to media, Saleem Shahzad said that he will contest from Orangi in next general elections. He said that no one involved in China cutting and target killing will be part of his party. No dry cleaner will also get ticket of my party, he continued.
The leader said, “I’m not willing to join any political party, and obviously I need a platform that is necessary to raise the voice.”
Saleem Shahzad also announced to hold huge rally in Orangi on December 16.
On February 6, Saleem Shahzad was taken into custody at Jinnah International Airport upon his arrival from Dubai in different cases including escape from the country on fake ID card in 1990s.
He was also declared as proclaimed offender in Dr Asim case.
In October last year, Saleem Shahzad claimed that Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) and MQM Pakistan led by Dr Farooq Sattar would soon join hands.
