Former CPNE Secretary General Aamir Mehmood passes away in Karachi

KARACHI, AUG 27: Former Secretary General of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and senior journalist associated with Kiran and Khawateen Digest Group, Aamir Mehmood, passed away in Karachi on Wednesday afternoon.
The late Aamir Mehmood was the son of journalist Mehmood Riaz and nephew of renowned writer Ibn-e-Insha.
The CPNE leadership expressed deep sorrow and grief over his demise. CPNE President Irshad Ahmad Arif, Secretary General Ijaz-ul-Haq, Vice President Tahir Farooq, and other office-bearers extended condolences, describing him as a dynamic and influential figure in journalism. They prayed for the departed soul’s forgiveness and eternal peace.
The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) leadership also expressed condolences, calling Aamir Mehmood’s death a significant loss for the journalistic fraternity. They prayed for his soul and extended sympathies to the bereaved family.
His funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow (Thursday) at 10 a.m. in a local mosque in Karachi, after which he will be laid to rest in the city.
