RAWALPINDI, AUG 11 /DNA/ – Security forces foiled a major incident on Mall Road, Rawalpindi, by swiftly engaging and killing an armed assailant involved in a firing attack, according to security sources.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Hussain, a resident of District Khyber, who was reportedly an active member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Security sources confirmed that weapons, ammunition, party flags, and important documents were recovered from his possession.
Further revelations indicate that the slain militant maintained regular contact with PTI leadership and acted on their instructions. Evidence also suggests that he was actively involved in violent protests and sit-ins, where he engaged in incitement, stone‑pelting, and firing at security forces.
Security officials stated that during past demonstrations, Hussain had targeted law enforcement personnel with firearms, underscoring his role in orchestrating violent activities.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the recovered materials and his connections, with more disclosures expected in the coming days.
