FM Qureshi meets Saudi counterpart, discusses Kashmir issue and regional peace
NEW YORK (DNA) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met his counterpart from Saudi Arabia – Adel al-Jubeir – on the sidelines of the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York and discussed Kashmir issue and regional peace.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said eight million Muslims in India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK) have set their on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the platform continuously needs to raise voice against the wave of Indian barbarities on Kashmiris.
Convening of the OIC Contact Group’s emergency meeting in Makkah after India’s illegal unilateral steps in occupied Kashmir on fifth of the last month and raising voice for the unarmed Kashmiris was a timely step which drew the world attention to the Kashmir issue, he added.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Adel al-Jubeir agreed to continue their joint efforts for peace and stability in the region.
