First PIA flight carrying 384 Hajj pilgrims arrive in Karachi
KARACHI, SEPT 06 (DNA) – First flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) arrived in Karachi from Jeddah on Wednesday as part of the government post Hajj operation.
According to details, at least 384 Hajj pilgrims were on board and were warmly received by the authorities of civil aviation and Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Nine PIA flights will bring 1954 Hajj pilgrims back to Pakistan from Medinah and Jeddah. The flights will land at Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Multan and Karachi airports where special arrangements have been made to welcome the pilgrims.
Till date, at least 78 Pakistani pilgrims died of natural causes in Saudi Arabia. Ministry of Religious Affairs has said that 51 of them died in Makkah, nine in Medinah whereas 18 pilgrims breathed their last in Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat.
