Fire at Islamabad’s Awami Markaz kills two
ISLAMABAD, SEPT 10 (DNA) – The fire that erupted at Islamabad’s Awami Markaz Software Technology Park on Sunday morning has been doused by ten fire tenders after two hours of rescue operation, and the cooling process has been initiated.
According to details, the incident took place in Red Zone area near Parliament and President House, and the blaze which broke out in Federal Tax Ombudsman office at 07:30 AM engulfed the entire ground floor. The tax record is damaged due to the incident. The glasses of different floors have also been broken to ventilate smoke out of the building.
Four floors of the building were affected by the fire. Two persons were reportedly injured as they jumped off the fourth floor to save their lives, and one person was found unconscious on the same floor. All the injured were rushed to the hospital where two of them could not survive, and third is in critical condition in burn unit.
