ISLAMABAD, JAN 06 (DNA)- Farhan Mehboob won the President Gold Cup International Squash Tournament played at Mushaf Squash Complex, Islamabad today. The final was played between Farhan Mehboob from Pakistan and top seed Leo Au from Hong Kong. Farhan Mehboob won the coveted trophy with three games to two.

Farhan dominated his opponent from the start of the match and exhibited supreme stroke play in the first game and won the game with the game score 11/4.

In the second game Farhan continued his superb form and won the game easily with the game score 11/4. In the third game Farhan made seven unforced errors which resulted in the loss of game with the game score 11/8.

 In the fourth game Leo Au came back in the game and saved three match points winning him the game with the game score 12/10. In the fifth and the decider game both players displayed excellent game stroke, however Farhan brush aside his opponent with the game score 11/3 and won the trophy.

President Islamic republic of Pakistan Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was also present at the occasion.

The Chief Guest awarded trophies to the players. Former World Champions Mr. Jahangir Khan and Mr. Qamar Zaman also witnessed the match. Foreign diplomats, civil and military officials along with a large number of squash lovers witnessed the match.=DNA
