Extremist groups want to change identity of Islam: Fawad Chaudhry
ISLAMABAD , APRIL : Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhary has said responsibility rests with every Muslim to thwart efforts aimed at fanning violence and extremism in the country.
He said extremist outfits like Tehreek-e-Labaik want to change the identity of Islam. He said the strong foundation of Islam was laid in the sub-continent by the Sufi saints through their message of affection, sincerity and respect for humanity.
Fawad Chaudhry had on Wednesday tweeted that the elements involved in torturing personnel of police and other agencies will be taken to the task. He said difference of opinion is welcomed in democracy, but nobody will be allowed to blackmail the government on gunpoint.
The minister said, police and security agencies are our pride and people clad in uniform are considered a symbol of pride of a state in the entire world. He said it is obligation for every citizen to respect and honor them. He said those, who violated this principle are criminals.
Fawad Chaudhry said that unhindered traffic flow is continuing on all important highways across Pakistan.
