Extension to Gen Bajwa in larger national interest to offset external threat : FFC Chief
LAHORE, AUG 21 (DNA) – Mian Kashif Ashfaq Chief Executive Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) Wednesday hailing the extension to COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa termed it an excellent decision under prevailing circumstances which would help Pakistan to offset external security threats effectively.
In a statement issued here, Mian Kashif said Prime Minister Imran Khan took this decision in the large interest of the nation as Gen Bajwa is needed at this crucial point in time for Pakistan.
He further said midway change of command would not have been a right decision in a crisis-like situation Pakistan has been facing because of the developments in Afghanistan and what is happening on the eastern border.
He said the PTI government took this decision at a time when India was openly threatening to use all possible resources against Pakistan and liberate the part of Azad Kashmir governed by Islamabad.
Mian Kashif said that COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa had rendered great services for the country in different ways, whether it was the military diplomacy, peace efforts in Balochistan or the restoration of peace in FATA where recently polls were held.
It is earnestly hoped that he will continue his strives so as to make Pakistan Army one of the best and distinguished armed forces of the world.
He was also of the view that after giving extension, the confidence of the businessmen and investors recuperated in the country and this would help strengthening the national economy.
He said the admiring aspect of the personality of Gen Bajwa is that he exchanged his economic vision with business community of the country and most of them find his vision applicable.
Mian Kashif said the business community acknowledged Pakistan Army’s efforts in bringing about a secure environment for increased business opportunities in the country. He pledged that the business community shall contribute their critical bit in strengthening the economic capacity of the country.=DNA
