Explosion in Peshawar kills security official, injures 4
PESHAWAR, JUL 17 (DNA) – An explosion in Hayatabad area of Peshawar Monday morning has killed Frontier Corp major Jamal Sheeran and while 4 others have been reportedly injured, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed in a statement. The security official was said to be on a routine patrol in the Hayatabad area, the statement said.
According to reports, the blast targetted a Frontier Corps vehicle while it was moving. The bomb disposal unit officials stated that the bomber was riding a motorbike, wearing a suicide jacket with 10-11 kilogrammes of explosive material.
They added that the attacker detonated the explosive vest while bringing the motorbike close to the side of the vehicle where the major was sitting.
The area has been cordoned off while the wounded have been shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex.=DNA
