Ex-Baloch minister Gazain Marri announces to end separatist politics

QUETTA, JAN 16 (DNA) – Balochistan’s former home minister Nawabzada Gazain Marri has announced to quit separatist and nationalist politics.
The son of the late Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri says he will now join mainstream politics, which “is the only way to serve the people of the province [Balochistan] and Pakistan.”
Speaking during a gathering in Golarchi on Tuesday, the Baloch leader said he will first meet his supporters living in various parts of the country before deciding about the future political course.
Gazain Marri hoped that justice would be served to him in the cases filed against him, adding that “these cases are politically motivated”.
He was of the view that the various projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would bring prosperity in Balochistan and other provinces.
He, however, warned the government if people of smaller provinces do not receive benefits from CPEC projects there would “certainly be a lot of uproar.”
Last October, the Balochistan High Court (BHC) had ordered Marri’s release, who was arrested in the previous month under Section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order and alleged murder of Justice Nawaz Marri, a judge of the Balochistan High Court, in 2000.
