European Dean Ambassador Emilian fetes outgoing envoys

ISLAMABAD, JAN 23(DNA) – Dean of European Diplomatic Corps Emilian ION, Ambassador of Romania has paid glowing tributes to outgoing Ambassadors of Argentina, UK, Sweden, Bangladesh and Japan adding it was indeed a sad moment for him and the diplomatic fraternity to say goodbye to them.European Dean made these remarks on the occasion of a farewell reception hosted in the honour of these ambassadors at his residence. Ambassador of Argentina who is also the Dean of Diplomatic Corps is also leaving the country after spending here over 11 years. Ambassador Emilian is also a potential candidate for the office of next Dean.
The Romanian ambassador while recognizing services of the outgoing Dean ambassador Rodolfo Martin Saravia said indeed the Dean executed his duties in a unique fashion. Ambassador Rodolfo, he said, ostensibly set new trends as Dean. The person who will step into his shoes as Dean will have to do a lot to keep up the momentum.
Ambassador Emilian also praised services of the outgoing ambassadors of UK Philip Barton, Japanese ambassador Hiroshi Inomata, Swedish Ambassador and Bangladesh High Commissioner Suhrab Hossain.
Ambassador of Romania further said since his arrival in Pakistan he had strived hard to promote bilateral relations between the two countries. He added, trade volume between the two countries has increased manifold while relations in the field of politics and culture are also constantly on the move.
A number of diplomats, representatives of business as well as social circles attended the reception. Guests enjoyed Romanian hospitality.=DNA
