England should definitely do a return tour of Pakistan: Shoaib Akhtar
Karachi : Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar thinks that the England cricket team should definitely tour Pakistan after the national team traveled for the three-match Test and T20I series during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The world’s fastest bowler took to Twitter and also identified the mistake Pakistan did in the first Test match that cost them the series.
“This is the beauty of Test Cricket. One weak session lost us the series. A good series overall in Covid times. England should definitely do a return tour,” he tweeted.
England last traveled to Pakistan in 2005-06, where they played three Tests and five ODIs. The three lions are scheduled to tour Pakistan in 2022.
A few weeks back, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram also stated that England owe Pakistan a return tour. “You boys owe Pakistan cricket, and the country, a lot, with the boys coming over here. They’ve been here almost two and half months in the bio-secure environment.”
It must be noted that England won the three-match Test series 1-0. Both the team will now lock horns in three-match T20I series, starting from August 28 in Manchester.
