By-election in NA-260 to be held on Saturday
QUETTA, JUL 13 (DNA) – All is set for the upcoming by-election of National Assembly constituency NA-260 in Quetta which is to be held on Saturday.
The number of total voters in the constituency is 460,202 including 274,367 men and 185,835 women.
There are 407 polling stations out of which 320 are most sensitive, 50 sensitive and 37 normal.
Among 407 polling stations 167 are for men, 131 for women and 108 are joint polling stations.
In the constituency, 993 polling booths have been set up in which 571 are for men and 422 for women. During the polling process, 407 presiding officers and 814 assistant presiding officers will perform their duties in these polling stations. The polling officers and staff have been imparted special training to control matters during the election.
A spokesperson of the Election Commission of Pakistan said that all the possible measures are being adopted to ensure transparency of the elections and tight security arrangements have also been made in this regard to avoid any untoward incident.
The seat has been vacant due to the death of National Assembly member Abdul Rahim Mandokhail.
