ADDIS ABABA, Feb 17:Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed that Egypt has a successful development experience and is ready to share its expertise with other African countries.

Speaking to Sada El-Balad channel on the sidelines of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Abdelatty said Egypt serves as a model for conflict resolution and development.

He noted that the Egyptian private sector contributes more than 66% of national investments, reflecting a strong and competitive economy.

He added that African nations value Egypt’s role in advancing peace, security, and development in the continent, in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s vision in this regard.

Abdelatty pointed out to Egypt’s ongoing initiatives, including the “Silencing the Guns” initiative aimed at achieving sustainable peace, and efforts to rebuild post-conflict regions.

He stressed that real development cannot occur without stability, and that African countries increasingly adopt Egypt’s approach to security and development.

He also highlighted Egypt’s achievements in infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors, including building new cities, localizing industries like pharmaceuticals, and developing renewable energy projects such as the largest solar power plant in Aswan.

Many African nations have expressed interest in replicating Egypt’s urban and industrial development models and requested support in human capacity building to enhance their own development efforts, he noted.

Abdelatty underscored that Egypt sees the necessity of collaboration among African countries to resolve conflicts peacefully, mobilize resources, and reduce reliance on external actors.
