ECP launches official app for general elections 2018

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Days ahead of the General Elections 2018, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has launched its official mobile application ‘Click ECP’ in a bid to guide voters on the polling process and keep them updated through press releases and other news.

Available for free on the Google Play Store, “Click ECP” has a simple interface aimed at helping voters get in-depth details on the upcoming elections.

You no longer have to send an SMS on 8300 to know about your voting details including your constituency and polling station etc. as Click ECP offers the same along with a number of other features at one place.

The app has the following sections:

  • About ECP – Information about the Chief Election Commissioner, members, Secretary and the overview of ECP
  • Voters Section – Here you can find information about your vote, how to add or modify your vote, along with informative videos on how to cast your vote.
  • New Initiatives – The section highlights the new initiatives taken by the ECP including GIS polling scheme, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), Biometric Verification Machine (BVM) etc.
  • Election Section – This section provides all the information regarding the elections, from results to election rules, statistics, election symbols, political parties etc.
    • Latest Updates – You will get all the latest news and updates about the General Elections including polling schemes, training material etc.
    • Media Section – This section includes all the press releases, announcements, news, notifications, downloads, video and photo galleries for the general public
    • Contact – It has the contact details of the ECP as well as the information regarding the field offices.

    For now, the application has around 1000 installs with an overall rating of 3.9 out of 5.
