ISLAMABAD: Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, India’s newly appointed Chargé d’Affaires, entered Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border to assume charge as the country’s top diplomat in Islamabad. His arrival marks a new chapter in India’s diplomatic representation in Pakistan.

Dr. Pandey succeeds Ms. Geetika Srivastava, who made history as the first woman to head the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Srivastava’s tenure was noted for her trailblazing role in a traditionally male-dominated sphere of diplomacy.
