QUETTA, NOV 09 (DNA) – DIG Hamid Shakeel was martyred in a blast in Quetta’s Chaman Housing Scheme on Thursday morning.

According to initial reports, the senior official’s convoy was targeted, as a result of which five others sustained injuries. The injured have been shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Quetta for immediate treatment.

Last month, at least six police commandos and a civilian were martyred and 22 others sustained injuries when an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into a security forces convoy on the Quetta-Sibi Highway.

The attack on the law-enforcement personnel took place some 14 kilometres outside the Balochistan capital, Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri said.
