DG MOFA inaugurates second branch of rich food Sri Lankan Restaurant in Karachi

KARACHI, JAN 6 /DNA/ – Rich Food Sri Lankan Restaurant celebrated the grand opening of its second branch in Karachi with a vibrant inauguration ceremony. The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Jagath Abeywarna, Consul General of Sri Lanka in Karachi, accompanied by his beautiful wife, prominent Sri Lankan expatriates, media personnel, and other distinguished guests. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Irfan Soomro, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ceremony commenced with a ribbon-cutting by the restaurant’s proprietors, Mr. Asanka Nishan and Mr. Gayan Premakumara, joined by the Sri Lankan Consul General and the chief guest Mr. Irfan Soomro This was followed by the lighting of traditional Sri Lankan oil lamps, a symbolic gesture of prosperity and goodwill, performed amidst enthusiastic applause from the audience.
A special mention must be made of the personal attention and dedication shown by H.E. Mr. Jagath Abeywarna, the Sri Lankan Consul General, in promoting Sri Lankan food, culture, and history to the Pakistani audience. As a true representative of his nation, his efforts have significantly contributed to the restaurant’s success and the growing appreciation of Sri Lankan heritage in Pakistan
Guests were welcomed with refreshing drinks before being treated to a sumptuous spread of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, which was praised for its rich flavors and culinary artistry.
This new branch, located in the Phase 7 Extension of DHA, Karachi, marks the restaurant’s rapid growth and popularity. Following the overwhelming success of its first branch, which opened last year in the DHA area, this expansion reflects the brand’s commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience to food enthusiasts in Karachi.
