The ceremony commenced with a ribbon-cutting by the restaurant’s proprietors, Mr. Asanka Nishan and Mr. Gayan Premakumara, joined by the Sri Lankan Consul General and the chief guest Mr. Irfan Soomro This was followed by the lighting of traditional Sri Lankan oil lamps, a symbolic gesture of prosperity and goodwill, performed amidst enthusiastic applause from the audience.

A special mention must be made of the personal attention and dedication shown by H.E. Mr. Jagath Abeywarna, the Sri Lankan Consul General, in promoting Sri Lankan food, culture, and history to the Pakistani audience.
