DG ISI Lt. Gen Nadeem may continue for another year

KARACHI: As military leadership under General Asim Munir gears up to salvage Pakistan from its worst economic crisis, a surge in terrorism, and respond to very important geopolitical developments, well-informed sources confidently claim that the relevant leadership has decided to extend the services of Lt. Gen. Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). These sources assert that Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum will continue to hold the position of Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for another year.
Nadeem, a graduate of the National Defense University (NDU), obtained his master’s degree from King’s College London and completed Advanced Security Studies courses at the US Department of Defense-run Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS).
When his extension is formally confirmed, Lt. Gen. Nadeem will not be the first to receive an extension as DGI. Previously, Gen. Akhter Abdul Rehman Khan and Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha had also served as DG ISI for extended tenures on national security grounds. ( Source: Kamran Khan Tweet)
