ISLAMABAD, AUG 21: Former Vice President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Bakhtawari has said that the country has been suffering from the fourth wave of corona for the last several months due to which business has come to a standstill . Businesses and offices are unable to fully resume operations due to the month of Eid ul Azha and Maharram so the business community across the country appeals to Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen to extend the date for filing income tax returns for the current financial year from September 31to december 31. He hoped that this move would bring peace and contentment to the business community and they would focus on doing business in a better way and submitting more income tax.
Ahsan Bakhtawari further said that due to one month lockdown in Karachi , 50% attendance at offices and rising wave of corona, the business community is suffering from instability and dissatisfaction while environment and tranquility are of primary importance for submitting returns. He further said that the Finance Minister belongs to the private sector and since he became the Minister, the business community has been moving towards a business friendly environment and his move would further deepen this impression. He also appealed to Asim Ahmed, chairman FBR, to take serious note of the proposal and send his recommendations to the finance minister.
