ISLAMABAD, 11 AUG (DNA) —      On the occasion of National Minorities Day, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the vision of the Founding Father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, for a nation where the rights, dignity, and freedoms of all citizens are fully protected. The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister emphasized that the protection of minorities is deeply rooted in the teachings of Islam, which enjoin justice, equality, and respect for all communities. He noted that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal political, economic, and social rights to minorities, ensuring their full citizenship.

Highlighting Pakistan’s obligations as a State Party to core international human rights treaties, he reiterated the country’s dedication to safeguarding the fundamental rights and freedoms of all citizens, without discrimination on the basis of religion, race, or creed. The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister paid tribute to the invaluable contributions of minority communities to Pakistan’s national life, acknowledging their role in enriching the country’s social, economic, cultural, and political development.

He stated that their contributions have strengthened the fabric of society and enriched Pakistan’s shared heritage. On this occasion, he reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to ensure that every citizen enjoys equal rights, equal opportunities, and equal protection under the law.
