Faizabad sit-in: Stern resistance as locals join protesters in Suhan area
ISLAMABAD (DNA)- Situation is worsening in twin cities and police are facing stern resistance as locals have joined protestors and are pelting stones at law enforcement agencies.
According to details, masses came out of their houses and started pelting stones at police as a result of which law enforcement agencies retreated.
Later, police devised new strategy and surrounded stage of sit-in’s leaders once again.
Till now, as many as 30 injured have been shifted to PIMS hospital whereas two police officials have been shifted to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Hospital. Enraged protestors have torched 10 bikes of police.
Meanwhile, protests have also erupted in multiple cities of Punjab including Lahore, Okara, Renala Khurd, Karachi and Rawat.
Earlier, police, Frontier Corpse (FC) and Rangers personnel launched crackdown against Faizabad sit-in protesters on early Saturday morning after the deadline given by the local administration to clear the main road expired at midnight.
