Court issues arrest warrants for Ex-PM Abbasi
LAHORE, (DNA) – The Lahore High Court on Monday issued an arrest warrant for former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for failing to appear before the court in the contempt case.
A citizen, Riaz Anjum had filed a petition against former PM, accusing him of committing contempt of court by using derogatory language on electronic media against an Appellate Election Tribunal (AET) of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench Judge Abdul Rehman Lodhi.
The LHC Judge Saddaqt Ali Khan had referred the case to LHC larger bench for further hearing.
However, due to his absence in the hearings, the court has issued arrest warrants for Abbasi.
