Consultant to be hired to review master plan of Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, MAY 10 (DNA) – Ministry of Interior has given nod to Federal Commission to proceed further with the hiring of consultant for reviewing master plan of Islamabad. While approving the Request for Proposals (RFPs) Federal Commission has been directed to ensure observance of PPRA rules and other rules and regulations.
This was informed during the meeting of the Federal Commission, constituted to revise master plan of Islamabad, held at CDA headquarters here on Friday. The meeting was attended by the members of the Federal Commission.
The commission reviewed the progress so far made in context. While discussing the RFPs, the commission directed to forward the RFPs to PPRA for vetting purpose. The Director Procurement and Contract of the Authority was tasked to examine the RFPs in line with CDA rules. The meeting also reviewed outcome of the consultative dialogue held on May 2, 2019.
The meeting was informed that consultative dialogue has been scheduled on May 16, 2019 at 11:00 A.M, Pak China Friendship Centre. Different private associations, developers, International organizations NGOs, representatives of civil society are being invited to attend dialogue. The progress so far made regarding revision of master plan will be placed before the participants of the dialogues so that their input / suggestion could be also included in the revision of Master Plan. Accordingly, a questionnaire in this regard will also be floated amongst the participants for their input / suggestion / opinion etc. = DNA

Govt taking measures to improve existing health facilities: PM
RAWALPINDI, MAY 10 (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said provision of basic facilities and resolving common people’s problems are the fundamental responsibilities of the government.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing Training Centre in Rawalpindi Friday afternoon, the Prime Minister said the government is trying to improve existing health facilities and establish new hospitals where needed.
Imran Khan said the government has launched health insurance card under which a family can get medical treatment at private or government hospitals upto 7,20,000 rupees.
He said the government has started Ehsas program to mitigate sufferings of common people. He said shelter homes were established across Pakistan, where laborers and passengers can stay, along with food facility free of cost.
The Prime Minister said loans will be given to youth. He said goats, hens, and cattle will be provided to poor families in villages so that they can become financially independent. He said affordable houses will be provided to common people under the housing scheme launched recently.
Imran Khan said he fully realizes that inflation has gone up in the country. He said tough days will soon be ended as the country is passing through difficult times.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said Sehat Insaf Card scheme will soon be introduced in Rawalpindi. He said 157 billion rupees have been provided for 473 development projects in Rawalpindi Division.
The Chief Minister said Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology will be upgraded to center of excellence for heart related diseases along with a facilitation center for rehabilitation of patients suffering from paralysis.
The Chief Minister announced that ring road will be constructed at a cost of 50 billion rupees and signal free express way will be completed with 70 billion rupees.
Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said Mother and Child Hospital will have 11 operation theaters to facilitate the people of Rawalpindi. He said he has established 60 educational institutions for women and now Lai Express will be completed with a total length of 21 kilometers. = DNA
