CM Pervaiz Elahi asks Imran to appeal for flood donations
LAHORE, Aug 27 (DNA): Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi
on Saturday telephoned Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General
Asad Umar and former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s chief
of staff Senator Shibli Faraz and asked them to request Imran on his
behalf to appeal to philanthropists for donations for the people
affected by worst floods in the country’s history.
He said that the entire country had been affected by floods. “Therefore,
it is imperative to set all political differences aside and work for
alleviating the sufferings of the people,” he emphasized.
The CM said that everybody would have to play his and her role for the
repair of roads and rebuilding of schools and hospitals destroyed by
floods. “Similarly, the provision of food, medicines and other stuff to
flood victims should also be our top priority,” Chaudhry Pervaiz said in
his telephonic talk with the PTI leaders.
He, on the occasion, also expressed the resolve not to sit idle until
and unless each person affected by floods was rehabilitated. DNA
