CJCSC Gen Zubair meets President of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, MAY 30 (DNA) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon received the Chairmen Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan General of Army Zubair Mahmood Hayat, who is on a working visit in Tajikistan.
At the meeting a wide spectrum of issues of political, social and economic cooperation of the countries have been considered.
President of the country Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction over the friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between the countries, which has new content by the efforts of the heads of the states.
The sides discussed the issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, drug production and transnational crime.
Strengthening the relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the security and defense sectors, the military and technical cooperation of the countries in order to address regional challenges and to find ways to address the political and military situation in Afghanistan, was considered very important.
During the meeting, they also exchanged views on the course of the implementation of the project on the construction of high voltage power transmission line “САSA-1000” and the use of the extensive hydropower potential of Tajikistan.
