CIS, SCO and CSTO Defense Ministries sign five documents
DUSHANBE, (DNA) – Yesterday, a joint meeting of the defense ministers of the CIS, SCO and CSTO member states was held in Moscow.
The meeting focused on issues relating to the international and regional security, consolidation of efforts to prevent the threat of the outbreak of wars and armed conflicts, and further strengthening the military cooperation.
In the format of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers, five documents were signed, including the draft plan of consultations of representatives of the CSTO member states on foreign policy, security and defense for the second half of 2020 – the first half of 2021, and the draft plan for the joint training of governing bodies and formations of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system for 2021.
Also, the decision of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers on the creation of a working group on electronic warfare, which is responsible for coordinating the interaction of the military command and control bodies of the armed forces of the CSTO member states in this area was also signed.
A protocol decision was made to hold the next meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers in the fourth quarter of 2020 in Moscow, before the CSTO Collective Security Council meeting.
A joint communiqué was also signed following a joint meeting of the defense ministers of the CIS, SCO and CSTO member states.
